About Diani CP Caregivers

Empowering Children and Families Living With Disabilities

Creating an inclusive society where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and live with dignity.

Who We Are

Diani CP caregivers

Diani Cerebral Palsy Caregivers was formed in 2019 by a group of parents determined to support children living with cerebral palsy, autism, spina bifida, epilepsy, and Down syndrome.

What began with 16 children has now grown into a community-based organisation supporting over 400 children across different parts of Kwale County.

Through therapy services, inclusive education, feeding programs, caregiver empowerment, and mental wellness support, we continue to create hope and opportunities for children and families living with disabilities.

Our Journey

Diani Cerebral Palsy Caregivers was officially registered on 16 January 2020 after parents and caregivers came together to advocate for better care, inclusion, and opportunities for children with disabilities.

Over the years, the organisation has:

  • Conducted 7 successful awareness walks
  • Sensitized over 5,000 community members
  • Expanded support from 16 to over 400 children
  • Established an inclusive special school
  • Introduced therapy and mental wellness programs

Due to stigma, lack of inclusive learning institutions, and limited acceptance in mainstream schools, the organisation established the Diani CP Special School, officially opened on 8 July 2024.

The school includes:

  • Inclusive learning spaces
  • Therapy centre
  • Health clinic
  • Day care facility for younger children

This initiative helps caregivers seek employment while ensuring children receive quality care and support.
